Baby Sleep FAQ
What is white noise, and why is it so beneficial for babies?
White noise is a combination of all of the different frequencies of sound. Like the color white, which is made up of all colors of the light spectrum, white noise is made up of all frequencies on the sound spectrum. Examples of white noise include the sound of ocean waves, a rain shower, a waterfall, the wind blowing through the trees and the hum of a fan. And in your baby's case, white noise is the sound your baby heard for forty weeks while in the womb.
White noise is well known to have a calming effect on both children and adults. Several people sleep with a fan running to not be disturbed by other sounds in the house. Likewise, by playing white noise while baby sleeps, most sounds will be masked. When falling asleep, the hearing of a baby is the last sense to switch off. During this period loud or unfamiliar noises as wake a baby up. For many babies, especially crying babies or babies with colic, the sound of white noise is soothing and helps them to sleep deeper and longer than ever.

How should I use Baby Sleep Music Sessions?
Always keep the music at a comfortably low volume. If the child is crying, gradually turn up the volume to a level where your baby notices the sound, yet never louder than the sound of the crying. As the child begins to settle down, you can begin to reduce the volume gradually with the baby until you reach a low comfortable volume level.
To help baby relax and fall asleep, use a low and comfortable volume, just loud enough to mask any bothersome noises that could disturb the sleeping baby. Regularly scheduled sleep times are also suggested to help establish a routine that promotes sleep.
Why Choose Baby Sleep Music products over white noise sound machines?
Our products have smoother white noise sound than white noise machines. Most white noise machines use small loops that play the same short sound over and over. These short sounds can become quite annoying when played for a long time and can cause more anxiety than relaxation.
